Indian Agate Mala Necklace
Designer: My Stone Circle
As well as being a classic bohemian, stylish accessory, a Mala necklace is often used for meditation practice. Mala, or 'Japamala' beads, feature 108 beads for counting whilst meditating or for repeating a mantra.
Indian Agate is a powerful healing stone often used for heart and circulatory work.
What is a Mala necklace?
Originating from India, Mala beads have been used for over 3000 years. They were originally used for a specific style of meditation called Japa, meaning - “to recite”.
The featured tassel symbolises the joining of the beads as the string comes together, representing united oneness and our individual connection to the divine.
The Guru Bead is the larger bead that the tassel is connected to by a knot. The Guru bead can often be the 109th on the necklace. This is thought to honour the relationship to the teacher, guide or Guru from which the mantra was received.
Each bead is individually knotted onto the necklace.
